Community School Teams Programs

cst programs

In the 2009-2010 school year, Community School Teams, with the support of their partners, ran 3005 programs which provided 145,153 program spaces for students across the district.

In addition to student programming, CST also provide programming to parents and guardians to enhance their literacy, conversational skills, and community connections to better support their children in the school system.

Programs vary from hub to hub based on neighbourhood / school needs and resources.   Programs can occur before school, during school, at lunch, after school and weekends.

Types of programs include but are not limited to: sports, literacy, arts and culture, food and nutrition, social emotional skills, environmental stewardship, global citizenship and leadership development.

Many programs are low cost, participation based and often include a ‘tri-mentorship’ structure with high school students and/or community members participating as volunteers.
