GDL: Support Staff Development Opportunities
The Board of School Trustees (the “Board”) believes that the development of all staff is a continuous process, requiring positive support for those staff members who attend training or development courses that will benefit both the school system and the individual employee himself. It is the proper role of the school system to stimulate staff development and training wherever possible.
Upgrading and training courses may be organized by the school administration on school premises, or employees may be sent to courses sponsored by other institutions and organizations. The Board may wholly or partly pay for the cost of such attendance, as approved in individual cases by the Human Resources Division and within the limits of the budget and the applicable negotiated agreement.
