JFCK: Violence Prevention
It is the objective of the Board of School Trustees (the “Board”) to provide a safe, violence-free educational environment. Students and employees shall be advised that the Board shall not tolerate violence of any kind in the premises, on its property, or during any school-sanctioned activity.
To meet this objective, the Board will provide educational and staff development programs toward the prevention of violence. Post-crisis support services will be provided to students and staff affected by violence.
Definition
Violence is characterized by verbal or written threats; by physical, emotional, or sexual abuse or harassment; or by racial harassment or harassment related to sexual orientation that is deemed to be threatening.
