Vote for BC Green Games
Vancouver School Board students have joined others from across the province in putting their garden shovels, drafting pencils, video cameras and plenty of imagination to work for the 2010 BC Green Games.
BC Green Games is a province-wide competition for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12, designed to motivate action, enable sharing and reward and celebrate the green efforts of schools in BC.
Choose your favourite five projects in the BC Green Games gallery for the K-7 and 8-12 Viewer's Choice awards. Two winners for each category will receive $500. Vote now - http://www.bcgreengames.ca/
Students, parents and other community members can go to the BC Green Games site, register (they will need an e-mail address to confirm their registration), and then log in to vote for up to five projects. If students, teachers and parents have previously registered to vote on BC Green Games, they do not need to register again. They can log in using the information provided last year.
Winners will be announced in early April, with all participants receiving a celebration package and ideas for Earth Day celebration, and 10 winners from K-7 and 10 winners from 8-12 schools will receive $1000. We will host a celebration for local winners at TELUS World of Science on Earth Day, April 22.
The unofficial project tally is 91 projects - this year's entries have a truly Province-wide reach and include schools in Northern BC and the Okanagan. Check out the map of entries from across BC.
