Parents encouraged to comment on start-up school concept at Queen Elizabeth Elementary

Parents of elementary aged students in Grades K - 5 residing in the Acadia Road catchment area recently attended information meetings on the proposed start-up school concept at the Queen Elizabeth Elementary School site.  The meetings provided an overview of the proposed catchment boundaries and current enrolment situation.

The new K-8 school at Acadia Road is scheduled to be completed by September, 2013. The Vancouver School Board is considering a proposal to use the portables at the Queen Elizabeth Elementary site to start the new school prior to completion of construction at the Acadia Road site.

As part of the proposal, the school district is seeking input on the implications of the new University Hill Elementary and Acadia Road schools catchment boundaries and using the portables for the start-up school effective September 2011.

All written feedback received by the Board will be reviewed and summarized as part of the final consultation report presented to the trustees. Your comments are valuable and will be taken into careful consideration by the trustees before they make a final decision.
