On January 15, Churchill Secondary students got a visit from a handful of BC Lions players. As part of the "Be More Than A Bystander" program, the Lions players emphasized the role everyone can play in promoting healthy relationships and creating more respectful, peaceful schools and communities.

The 45-minute assembly presentation in Churchill's auditorium utilized video clips, multi-media and role playing to highlight the problem of gender violence and introduce the bystander approach to students. The assembly was followed by a 45-minute break-out session with a small group of student leaders. During the session, students examined how they can play a role in promoting healthy relationships and creating respectful school environments.
