Douglas Annex Students Immerse Themselves in Aboriginal Culture
Douglas Annex is taking its Aboriginal cultural learning seriously.
This April, students at the annex took part in an eight day celebration of Aboriginal culture participating in Raven Tales assembly, a storytelling session run by Henry Charles, mask making and the creation of a button blanket. Students also got some tips from a lacrosse player on the Aboriginal history of the game.
Afterwards they all grabbed lacrosse sticks and got to try their hand at the game.
