VPD Take on Norquay Students in Basketball Game
On Thursday, September 26 students from Norquay and Mount Pleasant Elementary took on Vancouver Police Officers in the Vancouver Police Foundation Sports Jersey Release Basketball Game.
After a tight game, the police ended up triumphing, winning 24-22 against the elementary basketball squad.
The competition was observed by 30 VPD officers as well as a number of VSB Principals who had dropped by Norquay to pick up brand new jerseys donated to the elementary schools' athletics departments.
Also in attendance was former national swimming competitor and Vancouver Police Foundation executive director Martina Meckova.
Norquay admininstrators Tricia Rooney and Erin Gibbs say particular thanks need to go to VPD Constable Brian Hobbs who coordinated the entire event.
