On Friday night, January 30, 11 Hastings Elementary students, along with three supervising/driving staff members were invited to attend the Vancouver Canucks and Buffalo Sabres hockey game at Rogers Arena.

Will Lin, president of Rize Alliance Properties, invited the students to experience a fun filled evening in the company's private suite. Students were chosen by staff based on their love of hockey and an appreciation of the game and the invitation.

"Luckily for us it was a big win for the Canucks and there were plenty of goals to cheer about!" says Hastings principal Donna Emeno. "All the students loved participating in the wave as it went around the arena, they were ecstatic when Fin the Mascot came in to visit them."

Emeno says the only confusing thing about the entire experience for students was why many people in the crowd decided to leave five minutes before the game even ended.
