VSB Appoints New Superintendent of Schools

The Vancouver School Board has appointed Scott Robinson as its next Superintendent, effective March 1. His hiring follows an extensive national search, which saw applications from senior educators from across Canada.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to serve as Superintendent of the Vancouver School Board," said Robinson. "This role is one of enormous responsibility and I plan to continue to be a relentless advocate for the children and families our incredible public school system serves."

Robinson has been an educator for the past 22 years and has held a wide range of senior educational roles in school districts across Metro Vancouver and at various levels of the K-12 system.

"Scott's thorough understanding and leadership experience in the K-12 educational system made him a perfect choice to become the Vancouver School Board's next Superintendent," said VSB Chairperson Christopher Richardson. "I feel confident that Scott has the vision, skills, experience and energy to guide the VSB and ensure we continue to support all of our diverse learners in our engaged and caring school communities."

Since August 2012, Robinson has worked at the Vancouver School District as an Associate Superintendent. In this role he has been responsible for the educational operations and overall supervision of the district's 110 elementary and secondary schools. His work has also included supervision of the VSB's enrolment management process, educational policy reviews and revisions, distributed learning programs, student safety initiatives and International Education program.

Prior to his time in Vancouver, Robinson served as an Assistant Superintendent in Richmond. He has been a principal at the elementary, middle school and secondary school levels in the Coquitlam School District.
