Britannia Secondary is home to five top basketball players who medaled at the North American Indigenous Games this summer in Regina. Britannia's Karalee Antoine and Somer McCarthy were on a U14 team that won gold, Aeriana Antoine won silver with her U16 team and Kobe McKnight and Lyle Wilson took home bronze medals with their U14 team.

These students joined two players from Van Tech and Tupper to represent their province as part of Team BC. Not only was Team BC victorious, but they also made history in Regina by becoming the first team in history to win both the Overall Team Title and the John Fletcher Spirit Award, which is presented to the contingent that best demonstrates the spirit of teamwork, fair play, respect and integrity throughout the competition week.

During the competition the boys and girls from BC competed against teams from all over Canada and the USA including Alberta, Colorado, Eastern Doors & the North, Florida, Manitoba, New Brunswick, New York, the Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunuvat, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Wisconsin.

For the U14 Girls team, victory was particularly sweet. The girls played in three close nail-bitter games, winning Nationals by a cumulative 6 points in all 3 games. Coaches Sarain Lafond and Mitra Tshan attribute the team's success to an early spring break tournament in Westbank along with their training camp at Britannia in the week leading to NAIG.
