Former VSB Superintendent Supports STAND Foundation with A Donation
On Wednesday, April 15 former Vancouver School Board Superintendent Steve Cardwell donated $3000 from his retirement event to the STAND Foundation.
"I've personally seen the great impact the STAND Foundation has had on the lives of young adults who receive these grants," says Cardwell. "I hope my donation to the foundation will be able to help some students or even just one student in the community."
The cheque presentation ceremony included current VSB Superintendent Scott Robinson, District Principal Ron Bergeron, STAND director Jeff Sundar and STAND sponsor Seth Allen.
"We are very pleased to have Steve's support," says Sundar. "STAND will make the most of the money to help students with their education in the days ahead."
STAND is a public foundation dedicated to supporting the enhancement of skills, knowledge and livelihoods of marginalized young adults in the Greater Vancouver area.
Through their grants, STAND helps young people access education and skills training to realize their vocational goals and build economic self-sufficiency.
