DLG Newsletter 2024 October 4

October 4 2024

Hello Parents and Guardians,

Here is your weekly newsletter:

Terry Fox Run

Thank you to the parents who were able to make it to our event. We also extend our gratitude to our staff and the students who led the assembly. DLG is proud to support such an important event and foundation. If you would like to donate to the foundation, you can help us reach our target of $1500 by donating on our Terry Fox David Lloyd George page. https://schools.terryfox.ca/73483

Rainy Weather

We are grateful to be living in such a beautiful part of the world. Part of Vancouver’s mild climate is rain. Please send your child to school with clothes (boots, jackets, hats) that are good for playing in the rain at recess and lunch. All students are expected to play outside on most rainy days. Should Environment Canada predict or declare an “Atmospheric River” during recess or lunch, we will make arrangements for Kindergarten to grade 3 students to be inside.

PAC Meeting

We will be hosting our monthly PAC meeting Tuesday October 8 at 6 pm in the library. For more information, please visit the PAC website. https://www.dlgpac.com/

After The Bell Podcast

The Vancouver School Board hosts a podcast called “After The Bell.” Recently, they had an episode that gave tips for parent-school communication. If you are interested, you can find the podcast here.  https://www.vsb.bc.ca/_ci/p/76334

Moresports After School Activities

Another opportunity for after-school activities is here! Moresports will be available for grades 1-3 on Fridays in our gym. Please have a look at the attached flyer (below) for more details and instructions on how to sign up.

Lost and Found

We have moved our lost and found to the east end of the second floor. If you would like to look through these lost treasures, please ask the office and we will show you where you might be reunited with your belongings.

Advance Notice: Family Movie Night (Halloween Theme)

We will be having a family movie night on October 24th. This event is a PAC fundraiser. More information to come.
