Newsletter November 18-24

Hello Parents and Guardians,

What a gorgeous day this Friday turned out to be! We hope the weekend remains like this for you and your children to enjoy.

Today, we practiced our Hold and Secure Safety Drill. This drill is required and we practice for the event where a threat (human/animal/environmental) should be outside our school. We bring all children inside, lock the doors to the outside, close windows, and pull the blinds down. There is little to no interruption to instruction, and many of the younger students may not even realize that the drill is taking place. The drill today was successful, and we are confident now that we can secure children quickly should there be a hazard outside.

Every year, we update our school plan. We do this in stages, mirroring the sections of the plan. The first part of the plan is our school story – who we are. Reading over the story we have, I found it very interesting to see what makes up this community now as well as where this school came from. If you would like to have a look at our plan and read our school story, please click on link below.  Any feedback is welcome. https://media.vsb.bc.ca/media/Default/medialib/2024-lloyd-george-slp.35d1fe76126.pdf

Have a great weekend.
