🌟 DLG Weekly Update: December 14 – 19 🌟

Hello Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome to our last week of school for 2025! 🎉

🌧️ Atmospheric River

Last week, we experienced our first atmospheric river of the school year. Students had the option to stay inside and enjoy a movie during lunch.
We explained that this only happens when Environment Canada declares an Atmospheric River.
For regular rainy days, students are still expected to go outside—so please dress children appropriately! 🧥☔

📚 Learning Updates (formerly known as report cards)

At the end of this week, families will receive a Learning Update about student progress.

🎶 Celebration Choir

Our Celebration Choir visited a seniors’ centre this week and brought holiday cheer to our neighbours! ❤️
Thank you to all students who practiced during lunches and recesses, and to the teachers who sponsored and directed this wonderful event.

📖 Books for Breakfast

Join us for the last Books for Breakfast of 2025 on Wednesday at 8:15 AM in the library.
Enjoy muffins 🧁, fruit 🍎, and a cozy reading time with your child!

🎤 Winter Concert – Jungle All The Way

Here’s an update from our music teacher, Candace Fong:

Evening Concert Waitlist:
Both concerts are at capacity. If you don’t have tickets but would still like to attend:
✅ Standing room will be available—please wait outside gym doors until 6:25 PM.
✅ We’ve started a waitlist for families without tickets and will distribute as they become available.

Evening Concert Schedule:

• 🕔 5:45 PM Gym doors open
• 🕕 6:00 PM Classroom doors open for supervision
• 🎶 6:10 PM Celebration Choir performance
• 🌴 6:30 PM Jungle All The Way

Benches will be available in the front during your child’s performance—please return to your seats afterward.
Pick up your child from their classroom at 7:30–7:40 PM.

Hot Chocolate Pre-Orders:
☕ Pick up before/after the concert or delivered to classrooms on Friday, Dec. 19.
📱 QR codes will be available for tax-deductible donations to the music program.
