Dear Incoming Grade 8 Parents and Families,

I hope this message finds you well and that you are enjoying a restful summer. I am writing to inform you about a change to the scheduled Grade 8 Orientation event on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Unfortunately, due to ongoing work by the contractor and district teams to get the new Hamber building ready for school opening, we are unable to host the planned orientation events for both students and parents. We understand that this may be disappointing, however we need to ensure the safety and readiness of our new facilities to welcome all Hamber students for September 3.

Please rest assured that all the information and activities planned for the orientation will be covered during the first week of school in September and a parent orientation will be rescheduled. Our staff is committed to making the transition for our new Grade 8 students as smooth as possible, and we will provide ample support to help them acclimate to their new environment.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and flexibility. We will continue to keep you informed of any updates regarding the new school and look forward to welcoming you and your child(ren) into our community soon.
