Each year, December 5 marks administrator and management staff appreciation day on the Vancouver School District calendar.

Beginning in 2018, the day celebrates the positive impacts administrators and management staff have on students’ educational experience. With principals and vice-principals ensuring schools run smoothly and management staff keeping systems supporting the learning agenda functioning efficiently, the collective leadership of these staff members contributes to students’ learning outcomes and well-being. 

In appreciation of all administrators and management staff do, the District provides two $2,500 scholarships each year to graduating students. Like the scholarships in honour of teachers and of support staff, students who apply for these scholarships detail how specific staff members have impacted their learning and, in many cases, their lives beyond school. This is a true testament to meaningful contributions staff make.
