Parents' Advisory Council

Parents' Advisory Council (PAC)

The school has an active, inclusive and involved parent group which meets monthly during the school year. In addition to auxiliary and fundraising functions, the PAC takes an active interest in the classroom life of the school and affairs of the district as a whole.

PAC Executive Members would like to take this opportunity to welcome all students and parents to our school. As parents of children attending Renfrew, you are automatically members of the Parents' Advisory Council and have a say in PAC decisions.

Meetings

All parents are encouraged to attend our general meetings during the school year, as well as our Annual General Meeting in June where we hold elections for the next school year’s executive committee. Meetings always consist of a principal report, treasurer report, and chair report.

All PAC meetings are held online via Google Meet on Tuesdays at 6:30pm. The meeting link is sent via our email list and posted on our Google Calendar. Draft meeting minutes will be posted in our Facebook group when available.

Year-round Fundraisers

One role that PAC plays is raising funds for things that benefit our students and school community. Each year, we support a variety of learning experiences, including field trips, performing arts program, dance program, Saleema Noon workshops, and more. If you have the means to contribute, we always appreciate your participation.

We have fundraisers that we keep open during the entire school year:

Fundscrip gift cards

You can help us raise funds for Renfrew through your everyday shopping. We are registered with FundScrip, a gift card fundraising program. When you purchase a gift card for a grocery store, clothing store, or other retailer, you receive the gift card plus FundScrip donates a percentage of the value to the Renfrew fundraising campaign. To support our school, all you have to do is change your method of payment to gift cards!

To sign up and order:

  1. Visit www.fundscrip.com/support-a-group.

  2. Enter the invitation code: BBKSZN

  3. Place orders on the FundScrip website.

  4. Orders can be shipped directly to an address of your choice. Regular Lettermail shipping via Canada Post is $1.29.

How do you pay for your gift cards?

  • Online Bill Payment - No Fee

  • Credit Card Payment - 2.5% fee taken off donation amount

Direct Donations

Donations of $20 or more are eligible for an income tax receipt via VSB's SchoolCash Online platform.
