Scholastic Book Fair
Scholastic Book Fair - Parent Volunteers Needed
The Scholastic Book Fair, Mon-Wed Oct 21-23, collaborated by the Trafalgar school administration, staff and the PAC, is almost here!
Volunteers Needed
In order to make this event happen, Volunteers are needed on Oct 18, 21, 22 and 23.
Most volunteer shifts are short, about 30-60 minutes. The task is very simple, including organizing the books and supervising the children. One of the book fair co-organizers (Cécile Yuen or Stephanie McCardle) will be at each of the volunteer shifts to help you and answer your questions.
Please click the Sign-Up link here to sign up for an easy shift (or two)! This event cannot happen within the support of our incredible Trafalgar community! Thank You!
Book Fair Dates/Times:
Monday October 21, 9:00am-3:30pm
Tuesday October 22, 8:30am-4:00pm
Wednesday October 23, 8:30am-4:00pm (Early dismissal at 2pm for Student Learning Conference).
Tips and Notes:
- If the kids would like to make a purchase at the book fair, please remember to give them money (not a large amount) to bring to school. They can purchase books and accessories like, pencil, eraser, pencil sharpeners, bookmarks, etc.
- Feel free to remind children not to share their money.
- If you have young children in kindergarten and grade 1, maybe a good idea is to shop with your children before or after school, especially on Wednesday during the Student Learning Conference. Or if you cannot make it to school, give them a small amount of money.
- Great opportunity to discuss the topic of shoplifting
- We accept cash, interac, Visa Card and Mastercard
- Teacher's Wish List: Some teachers may pick out books that they would like for their classroom if you would like to help purchase books for the classroom at the book fair. You can find the teacher's wish list at the book fair.
Every purchase at the Book Fair will earn Scholastic Credits for our school to purchase new books for our Learning Commons (library)! Last year, our Learning Commons was rewarded $4,835 worth of new books for our children from the purchase at the book fair! Thank You for the support of our incredible Trafalgar community!
Also, special thanks to Mme. Katie Grant, our Trafalgar Librarian, for her ongoing help and support to bring this fun and engaging literacy event to the school!
