Program Details

Trades Sampler programs allow for students to explore multiple skilled trades. Through the experience, students discover which skilled trades match their individual strengths.

The Vancouver School Board offers a Trades Sampler program at John Oliver Secondary School in Semester 2. Students should apply in their grade 11 year. Grade 12 students can apply if a space in the program remains available. Please contact Career Programs to inquire about availability.

Course Contents

Designed for academic and career-focused Grade 12 students wishing to pursue an apprenticeship. The program has historically focused on construction and building trades, including:

• Cabinetmaker, Carpentry, Electrician, Floor Covering Installer, Ironworker, Painter (commercial), Plumber, Sheet Metal Worker, Sprinkler Fitter

Please note that this program is for Grade 12 students only. You must be in grade 11 to apply.
