Each day, the office can make 30-60 phone calls to families whose children are absent or late but have not notified us about it. It can take a very long time to get through the call list, especially being an extremely busy office, with people coming in, or stopping to provide first aid, etc.

We need your help to keep the safe arrival calls to a minimum, so that we can locate missing students in a timely manner.

If your child will be late, even by 5 minutes, or if they will be absent, PLEASE use the NRP App to let the school know, so that we don’t need to call you. The app sends a message to the teacher as well as the office. If you have trouble with the app and decide to email the teacher, PLEASE copy the office on that email as well, since you never know when you may end up with a substitute teacher, who wouldn’t have gotten your message. You may also call the office to leave a message on option 1.

• Please notify the school by 9:00am. We need to get your message BEFORE attendance is taken, and BEFORE our phone calls begin.

• Please use your child’s first AND last name, to avoid confusion – sometimes there are 2 students with the same first name in the same class or community.

• Please confirm your child’s division number and add that to your notification.

No need to wait for the morning if your child is sick at night, as you can use the app 24 hours a day to give advance notification.

If your child arrives after 9:00am, your child MUST sign in at the desk outside the office. Many children write incorrect division numbers, so please have them write first and last name plus division and time of arrival. Please remind your child to do this each time they are late.

Even though you have given us a notification, by signing in, it allows us to ensure the child actually made it into the building.

Once your child signs in, they need to take a pink “welcome slip” to show their teacher, so that their teacher knows they have signed in without having to stop the lesson to check.

If you are picking up your child early, please include the dismissal time in the app.
