After thoughtful consideration and planning, we want to inform you that the Tupper Tech program will not be offered in its traditional format this year.</p><p>We understand this news may be disappointing to those who have valued the hands-on learning, strong sense of community, and career-building opportunities that Tupper Tech has provided. Please know this decision was not made lightly. It reflects our commitment to evolving and enhancing the educational experiences we offer&mdash;ensuring they remain relevant, enriching, and aligned with the needs of today&rsquo;s students and tomorrow&rsquo;s workforce.</p><p>With that in mind, we are excited to announce a new direction for the Youth Explore Trades Sampler in our district. For the 2025&ndash;2026 school year, we will be launching a more diversified program in partnership with the College of the BC Building Trades and lead by UA Piping Industry College. This collaboration will provide students with expanded access to industry-level training, state-of-the-art facilities, and direct pathways into high-demand careers in the skilled trades.</p><p>This new program will continue to embody the spirit of Tupper Tech&mdash;hands-on, practical, and deeply connected to real-world opportunities&mdash;while opening even more doors for students&rsquo; futures. We are confident this evolution will offer a stronger foundation for success in both post-secondary education and the workforce.</p><p>Key features of the new program include:</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Monday&ndash;Thursday instruction at a post-secondary training facility</li><li>Friday self-paced instruction for English 12 and CLC 12 at South Hill Education Centre</li><li>Transportation to and from the training facility (departing from John Oliver Secondary)</li><li>Program features: Hands-on experience in at least six construction trades, &nbsp;plus learning a variety of employability skills and completing a number of industry certifications</li><li>Support for transition to apprenticeship in Semester 2</li></ul><p><img src=\"https://media.vsb.bc.ca/media/Default/frl/0/1753986151398.png\" style=\"width: 639px;\" class=\"fr-fic fr-dii\" alt=\"1753986151398.png\"></p><p>We will be finalizing program details in the coming weeks. A message from the Administrator of Career Programs:

Dear VSB Trades Sampler–Tupper Tech Students and Families,

We hope this message finds you well as summer progresses.

We are writing to share an important update regarding the VSB Trades Sampler–Tupper Tech program for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year. After thoughtful consideration and planning, we want to inform you that the Tupper Tech program will not be offered in its traditional format this year.

We understand this news may be disappointing to those who have valued the hands-on learning, strong sense of community, and career-building opportunities that Tupper Tech has provided. Please know this decision was not made lightly. It reflects our commitment to evolving and enhancing the educational experiences we offer—ensuring they remain relevant, enriching, and aligned with the needs of today’s students and tomorrow’s workforce.

With that in mind, we are excited to announce a new direction for the Youth Explore Trades Sampler in our district. For the 2025–2026 school year, we will be launching a more diversified program in partnership with the College of the BC Building Trades and lead by UA Piping Industry College. This collaboration will provide students with expanded access to industry-level training, state-of-the-art facilities, and direct pathways into high-demand careers in the skilled trades.

This new program will continue to embody the spirit of Tupper Tech—hands-on, practical, and deeply connected to real-world opportunities—while opening even more doors for students’ futures. We are confident this evolution will offer a stronger foundation for success in both post-secondary education and the workforce.

Key features of the new program include:

  • Monday–Thursday instruction at a post-secondary training facility
  • Friday self-paced instruction for English 12 and CLC 12 at South Hill Education Centre
  • Transportation to and from the training facility (departing from John Oliver Secondary)
  • Program features: Hands-on experience in at least six construction trades,  plus learning a variety of employability skills and completing a number of industry certifications
  • Support for transition to apprenticeship in Semester 2
