Dear Parent or Guardian,

In anticipation of a full return to school in September 2024, this is the information for gradual entry to Kindergarten. Please keep this letter handy for reference.

 On the first day of school, Tuesday, September 3, 2024, there will be one hour of attendance for both parent and student between 9:00 am – 10:00 am. Please bring your child to their assigned class and be prepared to stay with your child for the meet and greet information session. If you and your child will not be attending on the first day of school, please notify the school office before noon the following day. Failure to do so may result in your child’s enrollment being removed.  

All students have been assigned to a group. Please see below the group your child has been assigned to and enter through the outside classroom doors. Ms. Lum-Tong’s outdoor entrance is off the small undercover area, across from the Primary playground (red). 

Every Kindergarten class in Vancouver uses the gradual entry model. Gradual entry serves two purposes:

1. It allows the students to slowly get used to being in a larger school setting and helps to ease their transition into Kindergarten.
2. Time is made available for Kindergarten Intake Meetings. Please sign up for an intake meeting with your teacher on the first day of school. 

 Please consult the following schedule for the hours of school your child will attend for gradual entry. Starting on Wednesday, September 11^th, your child will attend for the full day, arriving promptly at 9:00am and being picked up at their Kindergarten outside door at 3:00pm.
