Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct - Updated June 2024

Rationale

The purpose of our code of conduct is to provide staff, students and parents with guidelines to support our mission for a welcoming, nurturing, inclusive environment where active learning is fostered, diversity is celebrated and honoured, and where respect and dignity are shared values.

McKechnie school promotes the values expressed in the B.C. Human Rights Code respecting the rights of all individuals in accordance with the law - prohibiting discrimination based on race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, sex or sexual orientation - in respect of discriminatory publication and discrimination in accommodation, service and facility in the school environment.  Racism will not be tolerated in our school.

McKechnie staff, students and parents are very proud of our Code of Conduct. It was revised in 2018 by all students, the Parent Advisory Council, staff and by a joint committee. McKechnie's Code of Conduct is as easy to remember as a wolf's paw! Use your P.A.W.S.!

Be your Personal Best, Act Responsibly, Work and Play Safely & Show Respect.
