Introduction


French 9 focuses on the purposeful use of the language to perform real-life tasks, share ideas, and acquire information. The course uses the Vista Higher Learning (VHL) online program called “D’Accord”. The program covers the main skills of language learning through written/reading tasks as well as aural/oral activities. Each unit will cover a different theme which presents useful vocabulary and grammar structures along with cultural components.

Brief Outline

Unit

Description

In the café

In this unit, students will learn how to order in restaurants, food, and drinks.

Hobbies

In this unit, students will learn different hobbies and interests, describing the weather/season, and different vacation days.

Celebrations

In this unit, students will learn to talk birthdays, celebrations, and clothing.

Vacation

In this unit, students will learn about ways to describe trips, ways to get to their vacation destinations, and what they enjoy.
