GRADE 8 APPLICATIONS

If your family is new to Canada AND/OR your child was NOT born in Canada AND/OR English is not the primary language spoken in your home, please register through the Newcomer Welcome Centre.

 Students currently enrolled at Shaughnessy, Carnarvon, or Trafalgar Elementary will be given a personalized enrolment form in early January. Please complete this and return it to your elementary school or Prince of Wales BEFORE February 13th, 2023.

Students applying from outside our family schools, please see instructions below under "NEW TO VSB (In Catchment)".

IN CATCHMENT ATTENDING A VSB ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

A personalized copy of the Prince of Wales Gr. 8 Application Form will be handed out to all in-catchment students by their Gr. 7 teacher. If you or your child did not receive the application, you can print it off below.

Step 1: Complete the two-page application. A PDF copy of the application is available HERE.. Please SAVE this fillable PDF to your desktop before you fill it out or it will not save your information. This year we are not asking families to attach any supporting documents. We will receive everything from your elementary school over the summer.

Step 2: Hand in the application to the Gr. 7 teacher OR you can email the application in PDF format to apooley@vsb.bc.ca BEFORE February 13th, 2023.

NEW TO VSB (In-Catchment)

As of November 1, 2018, all applications must be completed online. The registration application is available on any electronic device. Please complete the online portion before continuing the application process.

Step 1: Complete the online portion of the VSB Application Form.

Step 2: Bring the following supporting documents to Prince of Wales:

• Proof of address – Purchase or lease agreement & most recent utility bill
• Child’s Canadian birth certificate or passport
• Canadian citizenship documents (only if applicable)
• Parent/Guardian BC PHOTO ID
• Copy of the most recent report card or progress report
• IEP or psych ed. report (only if applicable)

Step 3: Once your registration has been completed by the PW Records Clerk, we will email you a fillable PDF copy of the PW Gr. 8 Course Selection form. Please do not complete the form until your VSB registration is completed.

IMPORTANT! Applications are not considered complete until all supporting documentation has been submitted to the school office. Students with incomplete applications will not receive offers nor be placed on wait lists.
