Ensuring learning spaces are safe and welcoming
As some students begin a gradual return to in-class instruction, Superintendent Hoffman has a special message today.
While there is excitement for many, Hoffman acknowledges the worry felt by some in returning to classrooms during these times.
Hoffman addresses the current societal fear across the province related to discrimination and hate; and reminds staff of their role as we address these issues systemically.
“We need to make sure that our learning spaces, whether virtual or face-to-face, are safe, free of hate and free of discrimination,” Hoffman says.
She ends by highlighting that through this time we all need to commit to ensuring that our classrooms and learning spaces are safe and welcoming spaces for everyone – staff and students alike.
