Filming
The Vancouver School Board welcomes filming and media productions in select facilities, provided they do not interfere with K-12 programming and comply with district policies. As outlined in AP 553 Appendix D, all filming requires prior approval, a signed facility rental agreement, liability insurance, WCB Clearance and adherence to safety and property guidelines.

Our schools offer a wide range of production-friendly spaces designed to meet the needs of film and television crews. Location Packages with Rates
Our Location Services and Rate Packages provide filmmakers with versatile spaces and comprehensive support to ensure a seamless production experience. Whether you're shooting a feature film, television series, commercial or photography project, we offer tailored packages designed to meet the unique needs of each production.
Our On-location Parking Package provide convenient, all-weather/gravel fields strategically located throughout city neighborhoods. These spaces are highly sought after by film productions due to the limited availability of large-scale parking in urban areas. Ideal for crew vehicles, and production trucks, our parking solutions help streamline logistics and reduce time lost searching for suitable spots, making them a popular choice for all production sizes.
Payment Terms and Damage Deposit Requirements
All payments, including the refundable damage deposit, must be submitted prior to any site access or filming activities. The damage deposit is held as security to cover potential property damage, additional cleanup, or unexpected costs incurred during production. If no issues arise, the deposit will be returned or refunded promptly after a post-filming inspection.
Damage Deposit Amounts:
- $2,500 for filming
- $1,000 for film parking
Filming at Vacant Facilities
While the District determines the long-term use of our non-enrolling sites, we are offering these unique spaces for short-term filming. These vacant school buildings provide authentic classrooms, gyms, Principal's office, and outdoor areas--perfect for TV series and feature film.
