Registration

New Families

Welcome to StrongStart! To register your child for our program, please complete the steps below. Registration is open throughout the school year from September to end of June.

Gathering Information 

Step 1: Complete an online registration form 

  • Note the registration ID after you submit your form (at the top of the page), this will be helpful for Step 2
  • There is no need to print or bring a copy of the registration form you receive by email

Step 2: Verifying Documentation

  • Please bring the following original documents listed below to your primary StrongStart Centre for verification 
  • Documents can only be verified during program operating dates and hours
  • No appointment needed

Documents Required:

  1. Proof of Child’s Birthdate – provide one of the following:
  • Canadian birth certificate
  • Canadian passport
  • Immigration Canada Document
  • Permanent Resident card (front and back)

2. Proof of Residence – provide one document showing the parent/guardian’s name and current address: 
  • BC Driver’s License or Enhanced BC Driver’s License
  • Hydro/Gas/Cable bill
  • Utility/Municipal Tax bill
  • Residential Tenancy Agreement


Next Steps 

  • That's it! You are welcome to attend the program at any stage of the registration process
  • The registration process is considered complete after documents are verified (required only one time)
  • Completed registrations will allow us to record attendance at your listed location to help us understand community needs


Returning Families

Welcome back! If you previously completed registration (with verified documents) at any location, there is no need to re-register. To continue this year:

Step 1: Parent/Guardian must email strongstart@vsb.bc.ca

  • Email Subject: StrongStart Returning Family
  • Email Body:
    • Child’s legal last name
    • Child’s legal first name
    • Child’s date of birth
    • StrongStart centre(s) you would like to attend

Step 2: Your child will be added, and you are welcome to start attending
