VSB AI Guidelines for Educators
Empowering educators to lead with integrity curiosity, and care in an AI-enhanced classroom.
- Use AI to enrich teaching
AI can help with lesson planning, feedback and differentiation. It’s a powerful assistant—but the heart of learning remains the teacher’s guidance, mentorship and inspiration. - Model thoughtful use
Show students how to think critically about AI outputs. Encourage fact-checking, reflection on bias and open conversations about ethics and creativity. Help students view AI as a tool to support deeper thinking, not as a substitute for learning or a definitive source of truth. - Protect student privacy
Use only VSB-approved AI tools that meet privacy and security standards. Never input identifiable student data or original student work without clear permission. - Be transparent and responsible
Review AI-generated content before sharing. Let students know when AI has contributed to materials and cite sources clearly. Set expectations for responsible use in your classroom. - Champion equity and inclusion
Choose AI tools that support diverse learners, including multilingual students and those with accessibility needs. Use AI to celebrate different perspectives and learning styles. - Keep learning
