Procedures

The following steps must be followed in order to comply with College Board requirements.

Step 1: Paying to write the exam

  • Students must first pay for each exam by credit card online. This can be done hereExam payment is non-refundable, under any circumstances. No exceptions will be made. Students must be able to commit to writing the exam(s) in May.
  • Students will also be asked to provide their legal first and last names, phone numbers and a student email address. It is the student's responsibility to keep updated with AP announcements and directions, so make sure the email address you provide is accurate and accessible to the student.

Step 2: Ordering the exam(s)

  • After payment for the exam has been received, students will be contacted within two business days through the email address they provided. At this time, students will be given a join code for each exam they are registered to write in May 2026.
  • The student will then need to set up a College Board account. The student will be asked to provide personal information to the College Board for their records. Use your legal first and last name as it appears on your identification.
  • The student will then enrol themselves in the exam subject. Students must use the same email address for their College Board account as the one they provided for the exam payment.

Important: Both steps must be completed to order the exam. If Step 2 is not completed within 48 hours of receiving Join Code email, students will forfeit their registration fee and registration will be cancelled.

No exams can be ordered after March 7, 2026

STEP 3: Writing the Exam

  • For May 2026, all registered exam-only students will write their exams in the small gym at Vancouver Technical Secondary School, located at 2600 E Broadway, Vancouver BC, V5M 1Y5, at the scheduled time.
  • Students must arrive no later than 15 minutes before their exam is scheduled. Latecomers will not be permitted to enter.
  • Students need to bring a government-issued photo ID to the exam (e.g. valid driver’s license, passport, Certificate of Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card). Students will not be permitted to write the exam without a photo ID.
  • Check the seating plan for your assigned testing seat before you enter the testing area.
  • No personal electronic devices are permitted inside the exam area, except for approved calculators.
  • Every student will use a VSB-owned computer to write the exam using the College Board's Bluebook software. Students must know their College Board login information to write the exam, no exceptions. Exam proctors are not able to support login challenges.

It is highly recommended that students download the Bluebook test software on a personal computer before the exam to become familiar with its interface.
