Meet our Team

The Tupper Community School team consists of a coordinator, programmers, program leaders and elementary school youth and family workers. Our team in collaboration with school administrators, community partners and an incredible body of youth volunteers work together to support our community through out of school time initiatives.

Jennifer Scott
CST Coordinator

Jennifer brings many years of experience having worked with Community Schools in Vancouver since 1998. She has worked with Bayview, Hastings and Tillicum elementary schools and the Templeton and Britannia hub of schools before landing at Tupper in January. Jennifer believes strongly in the community school philosophy and the importance of being a part of creating the community we need around us. Highlights of her work are collaborating with community partners, youth leaders, families and school staff. She is thankful for the many caring and creative people in our world and how wiling they are to come together to provide the best opportunities possible for our children, youth and families. Jennifer is thrilled to be a part of the Tupper hub and looks forward to the years ahead leading the Community Schools Team. When not at work she can be found having fun with her dogs, cat and young adult children. She loves walking on the beaches of Vancouver and Point Roberts and traveling to warm places.

Emily Rosa
CST Programmer

Emily has been working with Community Schools Teams since 2014. She has a background in Recreation Leadership from Langara, and is passionate about providing meaningful and quality recreation to the community. Mentoring Tupper youth and creating valuable learning opportunities outside the classroom are her favourite parts of her job. Even though Timon and Pumbaa said it first, “Hakuna Matata” has always been Emily’s favorite motto. When Emily isn’t working you can find her either horse backriding or walking with her dog Bailey.

Steve Sorrenti
CST Programmer & Homework Club Coordinator

Steve has been with the Tupper Family since 2012 when he started coordinating Tupper’s Homework Club. He joined the CST Team in 2016 facilitating programs such as Art Starts, Coding, Soccer Stars, and Super Hero Training. Working with young people is Steve’s favourite career (he’s also been a graphic designer and paramedic). “My goals are to support students as they realize their potential, to encourage them to be involved in their community, and have a ton of fun along the way!” Steve is also really keen on robots, origami, ping pong, and his dog Rosie.

Carla Aird
Youth and Family Worker

Carla has worked with students and families in Vancouver since 1995 in both elementary and secondary schools. Helping students develop a sense of self through Social Emotional Literacy, connecting to community agencies and supporting individuals with  challenging circumstances, is just a small snapshot of Carla's role in our community. For those students who feel challenged in school, she hopes to be that person they can connect with. Although home will always be the Prairies, she now considers herself a West coast girl and loves everything Vancouver has to offer.

CST Programmer & ASSAI Support
Olivia Zwick

Although Olivia is new to the Tupper Community Schools Teams she brings a great deal of experience with her. Olivia enjoys working with children and youth of all ages and back grounds in her programs. She is passionate about building strong and healthy communities  through  recreational programs and activities. Outside of work she enjoys traveling the world,  getting outdoors and petting as many dogs as possible.

Community Partners

Our Community Partners all offer a variety of programs within our Family of Schools and community, many more than we have been able to list in our school offerings.  Please visit their websites to see what they have to offer.
