The Vancouver School District strives to create an equitable learning environment where every child can experience a deep sense of belonging and is free to pursue pathways of learning in ways that are authentic to themselves. The following initiatives are current priorities for the District:


 AIRS - GIVING TUESDAY FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

The Artist in Residence Studio program or AIRS is a Vancouver based charitable organization for providing equitable access to high quality and socially relevant visual arts education for children in schools.  AIRS is a program developed in partnership with the Vancouver School Board that seeks to create  studio space within public elementary schools and to support local, professional artists to work  in collaboration with teachers in the studio, to  create meaningful hands-on visual arts engagements for children across the whole school. CLICK HERE to learn more about AIRS.

To ensure the sustainability of our program, we've launched a Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign with a goal of $25,000 by December 3rd. These funds are crucial for providing high-quality arts education to underserved elementary public schools in the long run. Please consider a donation to our program. Every contribution makes a difference; all donations above $25 will receive a tax receipt.

TECH FOR STUDENTS

Equitable access to technology is vital to allowing all learners to connect with their educators and classmates. Technology not only enables students to stay connected and engaged, it also allows them to develop the digital tools they need to succeed in our technology driven world. Unfortunately, many families do not have the means to purchase the tablets or laptops required to successfully participate in online learning. With your help, more students can learn and benefit from digital tools.

VSB MEAL PROGRAM/FOOD SECURITY

For some students, in addition to being a space where learning to take place, school is the only place they can access to a much-needed meal. VSB meal programs ensure that children receive the nutrition they need to fuel the minds and their bodies. Donations for school meals are critical for ensuring that children have health breakfasts, lunches and snacks during the school day.
