Immigrant Parents as Literacy Supporters


Immigrants Parents as Literacy Supporters (IPALS) is a free family literacy program for families with 3-5 years old children and have permanent residency or with refugee status.  IPALS helps prepare children for school and provides parents and caregivers with strategies to encourage English language and literacy skills. 

This year, VSB will have IPALS in Chinese for Mandarin/Cantonese speaking families and IPALS in English with translation for multi-lingual families. It will consist of 8 on-site sessions.






IPALS for Mandarin/Cantonese speaking families

Participants must have permanent residency status and be prepared to commit to all eight sessions at Collingwood Neighbourhood School.
