In-catchment registration continues to Jan 31

The general registration period for the 2011-2012 school year continues until January 31, 2011 for in-catchment area students from Kindergarten to grade 12.

Read below for information on registering your child(ren) at Vancouver schools.

Cross-boundary Applicants:

Schools will begin accepting cross boundary applications from Feb 15 - March 1, 2011. Families who submit a cross-boundary application during this time will be informed of their status by March 31, 2011.

Families can submit a cross boundary application after March 1; however, schools do not have an obligation to formally inform parents of their status.  Cross-boundary applications will be processed on a first-come basis, accounting for space, program and staffing availability.

Kindergarten Registration

Beginning in September 2011 all Vancouver schools will offer full day Kindergarten. Go to the Kindergarten registration page for more information including these helpful frequently asked questions.

Where do I register for school?

At the Vancouver School Board there are two places where you can register your child for school depending on your home language and if you were born in Canada.

Register at the District Reception and Placement Centre (DRPC):

The team at the DRPC will assist parents who are registering their children from Kindergarten to grade 12 whose children were not born in Canada and who do not speak English as their home language. Go to the DRPC registration page for more information on registering at the DRPC.

Register at your Neighbourhood school

If your child(ren) were born in Canada and speak English as their home language you should register at your neighbourhood school.

Go to the general registration page for more information including the student application which includes a helpful checklist with the documents you'll need to bring with you when registering your child at the school.
