Iron Chef Competition Showcases Culinary Program

This February, six teams of three to four Templeton students went head to head on a stage in the school's cafeteria to produce three dishes, an appetizer, an entre and a dessert. The students had been researching, practicing and organizing their recipes for the past two months.

The competition was judged by four of the top chefs in the country including Chef Rob Feenie (Canada's first Iron Chef), Chef Dale MacKay (Canada's Top Chef), Chef Dennis Green (former Chef at Bishop's Restaurant) and Chef Dan Close (owner of Dan Close Food Concepts).

"This is an amazing event that showcases the phenomenal talent of our young chefs here at Templeton," says Ellen Roberts, Templeton Secondary's Principal. "It's an incredibly exciting kitchen battle and I know that Chef Feenie and our other judges are in for a treat."

This year's secret ingredient was noodles.
