Ecole Bilingue Hosts Over One Hundred Bikers for Breakfast

On the morning of Wednesday, May 16 at 8 AM over 100 students arrived by bike at L'Ecole Bilingue for a Biker's Breakfast aimed at celebrating Bike to School Week. The event featured bike decorating, a bicycle-powered smoothie machine, a nutrioutious breakfast for the bikers and some prize giveaways.

Bike to School Week goes from May 14 - 18 and is designed to celebrate and highlight cycling as an attractive transportation choice for youth. This is the fourth annual Bike to School Week. Cycling organizers say a healthy understanding of bike safety is critical to the well-being of students. According to the World Health Organization, road and car injuries are the leading cause of death worldwide amongst youth.

HUB Bike to School volunteers participated in last Wednesday's event alongside parent volunteers as well as school board officials.
