Kitsilano Open House Kicks Off Today
On Wednesday, June 27th, the VSB is holding a public open house to learn more about the seismic renewal of Kitsilano Secondary School. All community members are invited to attend the event, which will go from 3 until 7 pm and take place in the school's cafeteria.
In October 2011, the Province announced that Kitsilano Secondary School will be renewed through a $57.8 million seismic upgrade project. The new school will serve students and the community for the next 50-100 years. Over the past four months, the Vancouver School Board and it's project team have been working on detailed facility planning, with input from teachers/staff, students, parents and community stakeholders.
The purpose of the Open House will be to provide a status update on the project, present information about key elements that will ensure the renewed building meets the school's needs and outline the next steps in the renewal process.
