Elsie Roy Students Skate with Trevor Linden

In late November, Elsie Roy Elementary students were invited to an epic skating event and got to skate around with none other than former Canuck captain and NHL star hockey player Trevor Linden. The impromtu ice rink was made from a special plastic surface (synthetic ice) that acted as the ice rink, but was far harder to glide on then a traditional rink for everyone but Linden.

Trevor LindenThe school's principal Rosa Fazio says her school's ice hockey players and figure skaters enjoyed their time immensely.

Fazio credits the generous support of the YBIA and Concord Pacific for making the special event happen. She also says special thanks need to go to Scotiabank, Allan Financial and Elsie Roy parent volunteers. To read more about the event or check out some additional pictures, click here.
