Van Tech can't cram all their literacy events into one week. So it has launched "Literacy Weeks at Van Tech" a multi-week itinerary highlighting every facet of literature from poetry slam workshops to Bard in the Classroom. Other highlights of the weeks (which ran from March 31 until April 17) include a "Name that Book" contest, Speaker's Corner, Poetry Caf� and a range of Author presentations.

There was even a sidewalk poetry presentation where classes flooded out into the streets and decorated Van Tech's surrounding sidewalks with poetry and famous quotes.

Van Tech English department teachers say they've worked hard to creatively brainstorm a range of events and literary showcases to capture the imagination of their students.
