On May 13, over 400 VSB string orchestra students from seven elementary schools (Edith Cavell, David Lloyd George, Sexsmith, Van Horne, Laurier, Jules Quesnel, and Lord Tennyson) and two secondary schools (Eric Hamber and Magee) participated in a year-end gala performance at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at UBC.

It was a well-attended event as the house was sold out. Under the direction of five teachers, the students performed a diverse selection of music showcasing the strength of the VSB string orchestra program
