Queen Mary Classroom Transformed into French Bistro

Late last December, Queen Mary teacher Maria King's grade 5/6 class put on a great Noel French Cafe to round out the 2014 year. Parents and staff were invited to a beautifully decorated room with decorations including images of the Eiffel Tower and maps of France hung from the ceiling and walls.

The students all picked out a personality from France including Marie Antoinette, Coco Chanel and Napoleon Bonaparte. Then they researched them and came in-character for the big day. The classroom was organized as a French Bistro with tables decorated in a Noel theme.

Students were served a wonderful feast of appetizers, mashed potatoes, roast beef, salad and a cake, all of which was provided by the school's families. During the entire event, the students talked about their character in both English and French.
