Grade 1 Students Make Greeting Cards to Help the Vancouver Food Bank

Over the month of December, Marilyn Reibin's Grade 1 class at Selkirk Elementary undertook a unique art project in support of the Food Bank of Greater Vancouver.

Before the holidays the students made hand-crafted greeting cards, and sold them at school and within the school community.

"This activity is a wonderful opportunity for the students to both learn about, and engage in, social responsibility and acts of kindness towards the community," says Reibin. "The greeting cards will hopefully bring smiles to many, and much needed food for community members in need."

In past years, the cards have been hugely popular, and this year was no different. The students put their heart and artistic flair into every card, and were able to raise an impressive $500 for the Food Bank.
