Schools celebrate Lunar New Year

Many Vancouver schools have been celebrating the Lunar New Year.

For example, Queen Mary Elementary and Queen Victoria Annex hosted traditional lion dances.

At Shaughnessy Elementary, the kindergarten students (pictured) paraded down the hallways of the school, singing "kung hei fat choy" to all students in the school. They had worked tirelessly to create elaborately coloured dragon puppets made from brown paper bags.
