In an era where technology permeates in every aspect of our world, its tremendous impact on our everyday lives cannot be overstated. In particular, technology plays a key role in addressing the climate crisis. 

Mark your calendars for Monday, April 22nd to join us at SPARK, the 12th annual conference hosted by the Vancouver School Board Sustainability Connection (VSBSC). This year’s event features an array of engaging opportunities to deepen your knowledge of sustainability and contribute to positive change at the VSB. 

You will have the chance to participate in a “circuit” of three workshops, each offering unique insights into the pivotal role of technology in shaping a sustainable future. There will also be an NGO opportunity fair, where you can connect with organizations at the forefront of environmental innovation and explore potential avenues for collaboration. Make a tangible difference by taking part in our e-waste recycling drive, contributing to responsibly disposing and repurposing of electronic devices. As well, the final activity will provide an avenue for students to engage in the future of sustainable school design at the VSB and beyond. 

A complimentary plant-based lunch will be provided to all attendees; we ask everyone to bring their own reusable container and cutlery to help us reduce waste. 

This is your chance to expand your knowledge, interact with industry experts, and join forces with like-minded individuals to drive meaningful change in our community. Together, we can shape a more sustainable future for generations to come. This event is open to all high school students, and we welcome passionate senior grade elementary students to sign up as well!
